FusionClad® TC

“Easy-Prep” Waterborne Industrial Protective Topcoat

FusionClad TC (Topcoat) is paint-like to use; it is a single component waterborne acrylic topcoat with very little odor, very low VOC's (volatile organic compounds) and quick curing. Apply by brush, roller or spray. It cures to a semi-gloss, enamel-like finish. On steel and other metals, the applicator can avoid the expense of elaborate surface preparation by conditioning the surface with FerroGrip Surface Conditioner / Adhesion Promoter and applying FusionClad Primer before applying FusionClad TC.

FusionClad TC contains Madison MicroSpear, an EPA registered Anti-Microbial agent which helps prevent microbially induced corrosion (MIC) of the coating and substrate.

The combination of FerroGrip and FusionClad also works well on concrete, where the use of FerroGrip eliminates the need for acid etching and abrasive blasting. Try a test area on any substrate wherever you want to minimize surface preparation and maximize performance.

When the ultimate in toughness, color and gloss retention are critical, consider using the sister product, FusionClad TC Ultra, the latest in water-dispersible polyurethane technology.

Note: FusionClad products are not recommended for continuous immersion, pooling water or embedment service. For these conditions, we recommend Madison’s CorroCote family of infrastructural coatings.

Typical Applications

The FusionClad system is suitable for protecting virtually any steel structure targeted for, or currently used in, atmospheric (i.e., aboveground) exposure. Use in the shop or in the field for coating steel structures, equipment, sheet metal, piping, furniture, and storage tanks. FusionClad TC is also ideal for concrete walls and floors.

Application Summary and Technical Data

FusionClad TC is a waterborne advanced acrylic technology. It has paint-like handling by brush, roller or airless spray at pressures in the 2,000 to 2,500 psi range. It dries to touch within 30 min. and may be handled within four to six hrs. FusionClad TC is easily cleaned up with soap and warm water.
