FusionClad® Primer
“Easy-Prep” Waterborne Industrial Steel Primer
The FusionClad family of coatings makes it possible to achieve industrial-grade protection for steel and other metals without the necessity of blasting or other elaborate surface preparation. FusionClad Primer is a paint-like waterborne primer with handling characteristics similar to latex paint. While traditional preparation methods such as abrasive blasting will give superior results for severe service applications, optimum results for light to moderate service are obtained by preparing the surface with Madison FerroGrip Surface Conditioner. FusionClad Primer contains Madison’s proprietary AP-50 adhesion promoter which works synergistically with the AP-50 deposited by FerroGrip to provide excellent adhesion at a fraction of the cost. As the last step, the applicator applies his choice of two available topcoats, FusionClad TC (Topcoat) and FusionClad TC Ultra.
The FerroGrip/FusionClad combination also works well on other substrates such as concrete. Try a test area on any substrate wherever you want to minimize surface preparation and maximize performance.
Note: FusionClad products are not recommended for continuous immersion, pooling water or embedment service. For these conditions, consider Madison’s CorroCote family of infrastructural coatings.
Typical Applications
For use in shop or field for coating a variety of steel structures, equipment, sheet metal, piping, furniture and storage tanks. Also ideal for concrete walls and floors. An anti-microbial version of this product is available by special order.
