Flexcel® PreCatalyzed

Single Component Elastomeric Polymer Coating

Flexcel PreCatalyzed (PC) is a ready-to-use polyurethane resin coating which, when applied like paint, cures automatically by a polymeric reaction to a tough, abrasion resistant and impact resistant film. Flexcel PC will set and cure at any ambient temperature down to 15°F (-10°C).

As an elastomer, Flexcel PC is particularly suited for concrete, where movement is greater as a result of freeze-thaw cycling. It has the capability of bridging small cracks. Applications include water/wastewater, building foundations, holding tanks, secondary containment, parking garages, industrial complexes, machinery, coastal structures, apartment balconies and automotive undercoating. It can be used in conjunction with glass fibre, to protect surfaces under particularly severe conditions.

Flexcel® PC is available in two versions. The standard product looks and applies like paint. A mastic version is also available, ideal for preparing cracked or spalled concrete or for touch-up and repairs

Typical Applications

Concrete vessels, inside and out, including potable water applications, to replicate natural rubber linings. Also used on metal substrates where unusual amounts of impact or abrasion are expected.

Application Summary and Technical Data

Flexcel PC is a single component system. It applies like paint, most commonly with a brush, roller or an airless spray gun at pressures in the 2,000 psi range. It has an initial cure time of four hours, a handling time of 8-12 hours and may be topcoated anytime within 48 hours.
