CorroPrime

Universal Corrosion Resistant Primer for Steel and Iron

CorroPrime is a paint-like single component self curing primer with superior hiding power (provides complete opacity at about one to two mils). It offers excellent adhesion to rusty steel and galvanized substrates by working like penetrating oil to soak into surface.

CorroPrime is very easy to apply by brush, roller or spray. When applied, it polymerizes to form a monolithic film that works like galvanizing to protect any ferrous substrates. For medium duty applications, CorroPrime can be used on its own (two coats recommended in that case) and it can also be topcoated with most other Madison coatings.

Typical Applications

General corrosion prevention service (non-immersion); works well with minimal surface preparation.

Application Summary and Technical Data

CorroPrime is a single component system. It applies like paint, most commonly with a brush, roller or an airless spray gun at pressures in the 2,000 to 2,500 psi range. It has an initial cure time of two hours, a handling time of four to six hours and maybe be topcoated within 48 hours.

Alternate Product

CorroPipe Zinc Rich Primer Primer is a higher build, more robust corrosion fighter for longer service life, immersion conditions or more aggressive environments.
