CorroCote Plus

High-Performance Polyurethane Coating/Lining System

Similar in composition to CorroCote II Classic, Plus is modified with Madison’s special proprietary Adhesion Promoter – Madison AP-50. CorroCote Plus is a high-performance protective coating with unique handling and performance characteristics. It is highly resistant to corrosion, abrasion, immersion, water-borne chemicals, and cathodic disbondment. It contains no solvent, tar, styrenes or isocyanate monomers, is non-flammable and totally inert when cured. CorroCote Plus is environmentally friendly and safe to use.

The presence of AP-50 in the formula makes CorroCote Plus suitable for use in combination with Madison FerroGrip Surface Conditioner as an economical substitute for abrasive blasting. CorroCote Plus is equally effective over traditionally-prepared substrates but has the advantage that it is very “forgiving” and will achieve greater adhesion, typically by 50% or more, than other products not containing our Adhesion Promoter technology. CorroCote Plus may be topcoated with AcrylaThane automotive-grade aliphatic acrylic hybrid topcoat for exterior applications.

Typical Applications

Same as CorroCote II Classic but will provide greater adhesion and is tolerant of less-than-ideal surface preparation. In addition, it can be used in combination with FerroGrip to avoid the disadvantages of traditional surface preparation techniques.

  • power transmission poles
  • underground storage tanks
  • oil / water separators
  • wastewater tanks
  • digesters
  • structural steel requiring medium to heavy duty protection
  • also protects concrete and wood against their environment

Application Summary

CorroCote Plus is supplied in a two-component 1:1 ratio; being a quick set product, it is applied with plural component spray equipment. It can be applied at any ambient temperature, in a single multi-pass coat, to any desired thickness. This fast and trouble-free application improves productivity and increases throughput. Having zero VOC's, this coating is also excellent for areas with strict regulations. It comes with setting times ranging from 1-30 minutes, and a choice of high-build or low-viscosity versions.

Approvals

  • Underwriters Laboratories: UL 1746 (part I, II and IV)
  • UL 2215 (Internal lining of oil/water separators)
  • Underwriters Laboratories Canada: ULC S603.1
  • Steel Tank Institute STI-P3, ACT-100, ACT-100-U

Available Variations

CorroCote Plus (AM) is a modified version of this product that contains MicroSpear, an EPA-registered anti-microbial agent. While the coating itself is naturally resistant to bacterial attack, MicroSpear resists the growth of mould and mildew on the surface of the coating (a health concern in many applications) and minimizes the risk of MIC (Microbially Induced Corrosion).

CorroCote Plus (CM) is a version of this product containing NanoShield, an additive consisting of microscopic spheres of real ceramic that enhance the abrasion and impact resistance of the finished product without detracting from other physical properties.

CorroCote Plus can be ordered with both AM and CM, if so desired.
