Drawing on 30 years of real life polymer coating experience in various industrial and commercial markets, Madison launched its Consumer Products Division in 2006. The first product, GemThane Pre-Coated Wood Siding, has been a runaway hit, with dramatic year-over-year growth. Although we are not by any means the first company to offer pre-finished wood siding, we are the first to offer a product that really stands up. Instead of using air-dried stud grade wood and ordinary paint, we use hand-selected cabinet grade wood, patiently kiln dry it to furniture specifications and coat it with five layers of a marine-grade polymer so tough that you could use it on the hull of your boat or as a lining for your swimming pool. We are the first company that can truly deliver on our promise of “Real Wood Without The Hassle”.

From that beginning, we have started the process of developing and offering an array of consumer products. Dex-N-Dox, the world’s first low maintenance real wood decking was launched in 2009, following years of product development and field trials. Pre-finished fascia, soffit and paneling are also available. GemThane Cottage Coat, the same coating we use in the manufacture of GemThane Siding and Dex-N-Dox, is a hot-selling product. It is used by homeowners and professional coating contractors to re-coat existing wood siding, often pre-painted siding from a competitor that has prematurely failed.
