The GemThane division manufactures two lines of “SurfaSeal®” Stone and Masonry Preservatives; products specifically formulated to protect and preserve stone, marble, granite, brick, concrete, and masonry from the elements, chemical attack, abrasion, or simple wear and tear.

The two versions are SurfaSeal SD (solvent dispersible) and SurfaSeal WD (water dispersible). Of the two, SurfaSeal SD is inherently tougher but contains industrial-grade organic solvents (VOC's) and is intended only for outdoor use. SurfaSeal WD is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. WD is the product of choice for enhancing the natural colour of the stone and providing a ‘wet look’. It has very little odor and is non-flammable. When applied like paint, each cures to a tough transparent, inert and environmentally friendly film.
