This is a group of two part epoxy products rated for heavy duty applications, including wet service and even total immersion. The MG Series is ideal for service indoors or out, particularly in occupied buildings where the odours normally associated with industrial grade coatings cannot be tolerated.

This family includes:

• MG-120 and MG-125: 100% solids, self-priming coatings
• MG-201: 100% solids penetrating sealer
• MG-220: a higher viscosity version of MG-201, allowing greater thicknesses without slumping on vertical surfaces
• MG-205: a 67% solids penetrating sealer

MG-120 provides a monolithic coating on metal or concrete, is suitable for food or potable water contact, is solvent-free (non-flammable, low odor). The Mix-and-Apply format can be applied by brush or roller or by airless spray (depending on sprayer, may need Reducer added). It can be applied up to 10 mils per coat.

MG-125 is a high viscosity version of MG-120, usually trowel applied on porous surfaces such as concrete block. It can be applied up to 20 mils or more on vertical surfaces.

MG-201 is a full-bodied penetrating sealer for wood or concrete, usually applied at a thin build of two mils or so. It is ideal for achieving superior adhesion to wood and concrete substrates; it is not UV resistant and must be topcoated. On concrete, it prevents “gassing off”, a phenomenon that may otherwise cause blowholes in the topcoat being used. Typical topcoats include GemThane “S” (for indoor use) and GemThane 1:4 Aliphatic (for outdoor use).

MG-205 is a variation of MG-201, but with a very low viscosity, making it ideal as an adhesion-promoting sealer when coating or recoating wood, e.g. residential siding. Once cured, topcoat with GemThane Cottage Coat or OverCoat.
