Most GemThane products are solvent based, but a growing number are water dispersible products. The flagship product among the water dispersible group is GemThane AquaTech. The AquaTech family consists of AquaTech Primer, AquaTech TC and AquaTech TC Ultra. AquaTech Primer is surface tolerant, i.e. requires little surface preparation; it contains Madison’s AP-50 Adhesion Promoter and is used over surfaces prepared with GemBond Surface Conditioner (see above). AquaTech TC is a general purpose topcoat which performs particularly well in wet environments. AquaTech TC Ultra is our robust and most UV stable topcoat

Every GemThane AquaTech topcoat product contains Madison’s MicroSpear permanent Anti-Microbial additive and thus carries our “Sanitary Surface Solutions” banner, making each of them suitable for surfaces of all kinds where ordinary paint won’t provide adequate protection. The list includes pharmaceutical complexes, health care facilities, places of public assembly, office buildings, food and beverage, schools, transit facilities, factories, cafeterias, sports facilities, theme parks and playgrounds.

A special version of AquaTech TC Ultra, called AquaTech STC, has been developed for coating theatre stage floors. This matte black product is many more times more abrasion resistant than other stage floor coatings and is used in performing arts centres around the world. It is usually applied over MG-201 for this particular use.
