GemThane Aluminized Primer is a pre-catalyzed (single component, self curing) aluminum-rich polyurethane primer. It can be used right from the can to seal and protect virtually any kind of substrate. Although originally developed to protect metal, it is often used on concrete and wood surfaces as well. It is an excellent general purpose product that you may wish to keep on hand for virtually any light to medium duty application that requires a penetrating sealer or a rust inhibiting primer. Solvent-dispersible: ventilation required when applied indoors. Aluminized colour of finished product looks like galvanizing but is more uniform. Product is surface tolerant, so wire brushing and/or use of GemBond Surface Conditioner are usually adequate.
