Zero
Failures in 1.5 Million Square Feet of Water Tank Lining
Highlights: Abu Dhabi's Water and Electricity
Department (WED) experienced a number of water tank
lining failures prior to 1990. Between 1990 and 1993 WED lined
16 new and rehabilitated water storage tanks using Madison's
CorroCote II PW. Rigorous examinations over the years prove
the coating easily withstands the combination of hot
desalinated/deionized water in the tanks and high desert air
temperatures outside. Life expectancy of the lining system is
estimated at 30 to 50 years...

20
Years, 200 Million Square Feet and ZERO Failures
Highlights: The Steel Tank Institute of Lake
Zurich, Illinois reported the registration and installation of
over 250,000 STI-P3® underground steel fuel storage tanks by
January of 1998. STI-P3® tanks utilize a pre-engineered
anti-corrosion system involving isolating bushings, cathodic
protection and an approved tank coating. These tanks involve
approximately 200 million square feet of steel, and over 70%
of that area is coated with Madison's CorroCote II...

Fastest-Growing
Underground Tank Technology
Highlights: In August, 1999, the Steel Tank
Institute reported that approximately 2500 ACT-100-U® tanks
were registered since the technology's first approval 18
months earlier. This rapid rate of growth makes the
ACT-100-U® the fastest-growing underground tank technology in
America. The vast majority of these ACT-100-U® tanks have
been made with Madison Chemical's FibreThane polyurethane
cladding technology. The EPA recognizes FibreThane, in its
cured state, as an inert plastic that will not contaminate
ground water or soil in any way...

was in poor condition before Engineered Coatings Ltd. (ECL)
and Madison got involved. Portions of the tank were corroded
andleaking due to severe pitting. ECL se to work using
Madison's Corrocote II PW, which can be built-up to any
desired thickness - important when applying over damaged steel
surfaces. After interior and exterior coating, the tank looked
and performed like new...

Polyurethane Coatings Beat Corrosion Odds
Highlights: The Chukchansi-Mono Native
Americans who operate the Table Mountain Casino in the
foothills of California's Sierra Mountains refuse to take any
risks when it comes to protecting their investment. Inspection
of the Table Mountain wastewater treatment plant corrosion
protection system revealed that internal and external surfaces

Town
of Bluefield Invests in the Future
Highlights: When the small, scenic town of
Bluefield, Virginia decided to rehabilitate the 500,000 gallon
ground storage water tank, they demanded a protective coating
system with a proven, superior performance record. An interior

The
Gold Standard in Pipe Coatings
Highlights: Newmont Gold, in a joint venture
with the Japanese Sumitomi Corporation, constructed the Batu
Hijau project on the Indonesian island of Sumbawa, off the
coast of Bali. This open-cut mine is designed to extract gold,
copper and silver for the next 20 years. Corrosion prevention
for the huge pipeline that would carry seawater inland for the
mining process was a critical design consideration. Northwest
Pipe of Portland, Oregon supplied over five miles of 54-inch
diameter steel pipe for the project, coated in their plant
with 40 mils (almost twice typical thickness) of Madison's
CorroPipe II UltraLiner to protect against highly corrosive
seawater and the abrasive effects of sand...
